It looks like cheaters are in for a bit of a surprise, with the Fall Guys developers announcing via Twitter that they have been secretly gathering data on cheaters before sending them to Cheater Island to compete against one another.
Apparently spending time carefully determining who was really cheating, the developers then banished them to their own little slice of hell, a competition where they would only battle against one another for a crown “tainted with a hollow feeling of guilt and regret”.
Spending time to let cheaters know that they had been caught but not immediately banned, the developers wanted to give those using sneaky tactics the chance to move away from cheats on their own, however, when people wouldn’t stop.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen this tactic, with games like Call of Duty: Warzone also doing something similar, but it’s always a bit of a feel-good story for those of us that play fairly!
UPDATE: Cheater Island is now closed as the team works on a new way to combat cheaters, but matches are confirmed to have happened…I’m sure THAT was fun…
