Have you joined Geralt on his adventures and slain drowners, vampires and more?
Well, you’re not alone, with the series apparently having sold over 50 million copies, according to a recent tweet from the official Witcher Twitter page.
Based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski, the first Witcher title released by CD Projekt Red was way in back 2007, introducing players for the first time to the unique and interesting character of Geralt of Rivia.
Now, after 13 years, we’ve seen two more games and even a series, starring Henry Cavill, which is now available on Netflix.
Having recently worked to mend the fractured relationship with Sapkowski after a disagreement over pay, it also looks like we’re going to see another Witcher title in the distant future, with CD Projekt Red confirming that a small team will begin work on a game set within The Witcher universe.
Mentioning in an official report that the company is eager to start “parallel work on several projects” and that they are keen on migrating to a “dual-franchise model” CD Projekt Red looks eager to increase the number of games we’ll see in the future, meaning the franchise looks to be one that will continue to grow.
So, there’s only one thing left to do.
