It looks like NieR Re[in]carnation stands to be a pretty beautiful game, judging from our first look at gameplay in the video below, but can the series really make an impact with fans, with this iteration of the series launching as a free-to-play game on mobile devices?

Initially announced back during the NieR 10th anniversary event, the title will be set to release prior to the new remaster of Nier Replicant, which will release on PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Nier Re[in]carnation, however, will only be available on mobile devices and will feature microtransactions.

Apparently putting the playing in control of a girl and a ghost, the game does look pretty impressive, but we’re still yet to see much of actual combat or full exploration, with the video only showcasing the environment itself and movement.
