Japanese Voice Actor Behind FFVII Remake, Kingdom Hearts and Fullmetal Alchemist Characters Passes Away

It’s unfortunately been announced that the incredibly talented voice actor behind Reno in the Final Fantasy VII Remake, Axel in Kingdom Hearts and many other roles has unfortunately passed away after a battle with cancer.

Reported on by Rafael Antonio Pineda here in an article for Anime News Network, the artist unfortunately passed away on Sunday.

Air Agency, the talent management agency founded by Keiji Fujiwara announced that the voice actor had passed away on the 12th of April due to cancer at the age of 55.

Apparently having undergone medical treatment in the past, many thought Fujiwara was on the mend when he returned to voice acting in 2017, however, it looks like eventually lost his battle with cancer.

Having brought life to a wide range of beloved characters and helped many through his own agency, the world is a bit darker without Keiji Fujiwara.

Personally, I’m going to be listening to some of his performances tonight, in order to remember his incredible talent.

You can check out all of his performances via his Wikipedia page here.
