I think it’s safe to say we’re all excited for Final Fantasy VII Remake, but it might be a bit of a concern to some that the title is around 100GB to download.

Speaking on the issue in a great article for USgamer that you can check out here, co-director Naoki Hamaguchi suggested the size of the game was largely due to the creation of “unique assets to achieve the quality desired” rather than the re-purposing of existing models.
Going for a “unique gameplay experience in each area” Hamaguchi suggested that the team were eager to make each location within the game feel fresh and distinct, showing the passion and dedication of the developers.
It’s great to see the care and attention going into the title and, personally, I can’t wait to head back into Midgar!
