Nintendo makes first move against Dreams creations

It’s safe to say that the new PlayStation title, Dreams, gives people a lot of freedom when it comes to creating their own content.

It also means they can potentially create copyrighted content…

Apparently Nintendo is the first company to make a move against creators on Dreams, supposedly contacting Twitter creator Piece of Craft for his Mario creations.

Nintendo has also clearly contacted Sony in regard to the issues, apparently asking the company to moderate the use of copyrighted material a bit more closely.

Although the company is within its rights to do so, it’s not exactly a great move, but at the same time, Nintendo has been infamous for similar behaviour before, having gone after creators of unique Mario levels when the company first released Super Mario Maker and also having plagued YouTubers in the past with incredibly strict rules in regard to content.

Could this be the first of many to step forward to block creators?

I wouldn’t be surprised…
