Call of Duty: Warzone gains 6 million players in just over 24 hours

So Call of Duty: Warzone, the new battle royale title from Activision Blizzard, seems to be doing pretty well, with a recent Twitter post from the official Call of Duty page suggesting that the title has had over 6 million players drop into combat since the game launched just over 24 hours ago.

The additional mode that was added to the latest Modern Warfare title was also released as a free download for those who didn’t own the latest Call of Duty title, meaning that a huge number of gamers have jumped back into the fray to take part in the huge release.

Pitting 150 players against one another in teams of three, the ambitious entry into the battle royale genre looks to be doing pretty well so far, if numbers are anything to go by.

With a mixture of weapons and vehicles on offer on the large playable map, it looks like the entry could be the next one to dominate the genre, following in the footsteps of Fortnite and Apex: Legends.
