With the release of Half-Life Alyx looming, Valve has released three different gameplay trailers showcase a wide range of features we’re going to see in the game, including the movement system, exploration, combat and environment itself.

Being a VR title, many have been in two minds about the upcoming entry in the series, but it looks like the gameplay trailers will help to reassure fans that Valve have thought long and hard about the implementation of the new technology, utilising it to create an immersive and exciting experience, rather than simply for the sake of it.

Set between Half-Life 1 and 2, Alyx explores the series in a new and different way, with the gameplay trailers showcase the character moving around the eerie subway filled with headcrabs and zombies, before emerging to fight against the combine in a frantic shootout inside a construction yard.

Scheduled for release on the 23rd of March, it looks like we’re in for something pretty darn exciting!
