If you’re one of the people who have been itching for a new base game since the release of The Sims 4 back in 2014, the wait may nearly be over, with the CEO of EA Games, Andrew Wilson, supposedly confirming that a new Sims experience is on the way.

Speaking in a recent earnings call quoted here on Sims Community, it looks like Wilson is eager to bring The Sims forward for ” a new generation” but at the same time, is also interested in “the notion of social interactions and competition” offered by an online model.
So we’re going to be getting a new Sims title soon, but will it include multiplayer?
Personally, my mind immediately goes to Sim City 2014, the controversial release that saw players forced into online play and angry at the lack of offline and single-player functionality.
Despite this, we’ll have to wait and see what’s next for the title in the next few years.
