It looks like Sony has something to celebrate, with over 1 billion titles for the PlayStation 4 now having sold worldwide.

Announcing the news via a recent press release that you can see here, Sony were eager to show off the impressive figure that demonstrates the success of the latest console ahead of the release of more information about the PlayStation 5.

Initially releasing back in 2013, the PlayStation 4 has done well in dominating the market this generation, in no small part due to the negative actions taken towards the consumer by Microsoft when the Xbox One first released (people like the pre-owned market, so maybe don’t try to destroy that?)

With the rumours circulating that we’re going to see more about the PlayStation 5 this months via a Sony State of Play broadcast, the news has come at a pretty great time for the company.
