Something interesting is on the way, with Chad Robertson and James Ohlen, two people who were once key figures at Bioware, now joining together with the creators of Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons.

Announcing the founding of their new studio, Archetype Entertainment, Ohlen and Robertson are apparently eager to get back to their roots, with Robertson saying in an interview with Games Radar that they are “building games that represent the diversity” of their audience and that the studio will “always be a place for story-driven roleplaying games that put the player at the centre of an epic personal narrative.”
It’s also interesting to note, however, that Robertson was the head of technology for Mass Effect: Andromeda and live service director for Anthem, suggesting that he was potentially held back from the types of titles he really wanted to create by the new owner of Bioware, EA Games.
Apparently working on a new sci-fi universe with Wizards of the Coast, I hope we get to see some great things soon!
Are there any Bioware titles you’d like to see have spiritual successors?
