It looks like Blizzard is eager to get help with their maps in future, with a clause in the terms of service for Warcraft 3 Reforged meaning that any maps or modes you could design would immediately belong to Activision Blizzard.
Many will be familiar with the likes of DOTA, which began it’s life as a community-created mod for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. Now it means that if any kind of project was to emerge in a similar fashion, the large-scale publisher would seize ownership immediately.

Highlighted on Reddit by a user going by the name of Man_Eating_Boar, the terms of service suggest that users will grant Blizzard a “exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, unconditional, royalty free, irrevocable licence enabling Blizzard to fully exploit” your creation or custom game.
It’s a pretty awful and anti-consumer move by the company, something that they probably don’t really want to see a backlash about, especially after the Blitzchung debacle that occured in the not-too-distant past.
Launched on the 28th of this month, the remastered version of the popular RTS title was hotly anticipated by fans, but reviews at the moment aren’t so popular if Kotaku is anything to go by.
