Want to catch up with the story in Half-Life or just replay some classics?

Well, I’ve got some great news for you!

In order to promote the upcoming title in the series, Half-Life: Alyx, Valve has announced that the previous titles will be free for Steam users, meaning you can throw yourself back into the fight against the Combine and remind yourself of the brilliance of the earlier games.

Valve believes that familiarising yourself with the initial titles is also the “best way to enjoy the new game” meaning that we’re sure to get some interesting and new story content, rather than just a recap, something many were worried about when Alyx was revealed to be set within the timeline of the other games, rather than as a sequel.

We’ll hopefully see all of these questions and more answered in the AMA announced by Valve on Twitter, set to take place at 9am Pacific Time today!
