It looks like Tencent is helping to assist PlatinumGames in breaking into the Chinese market, with the company providing a large capital investment to the developer in order to secure the basis for a partnership.

Having creating several beloved games, such as Nier Automata and Bayonetta, PlatinumGames has become a favourite studio for many over the last few years, but many feel wary about the partnership due to Tencent’s controversial nature in the gaming industry.
Despite this, a statement from the CEO of PlatinumGames suggests that they’re eager to create “high-quality” titles that “stay true to our name”.
