With the new trailer for Resident Evil 3 Remake impressing fans during the recent Playstation State of Play event, it looks like Capcom is on to a winner recently, especially considering the state of sales for the Resident Evil 2 Remake.
Announcing the success via a recent post in it’s Capcom IR page via a press release, the company confirmed that sales for the Resident Evil 2 Remake have officially surpassed the sales for the initial title that was released back in 1998.
With the new remake selling more than 5 million sales according the the release, this would mean the title had surpassed the 4.96 million copies sold by the base game in the past.
It’s an impressive figure and it looks like Capcom is doing something right, with the title also having received the Golden Joystick award for Game of the Year earlier in 2019.
