The latest title from Valve looks to be an exciting one for fans, who have clamoured for a sequel to the popular Half-Life series for years, but with their latest title a VR prequel, can Alyx live up to the hype?
It’s safe to say we’re all aware of how long it’s been since the last title from Valve, the company behind the Steam market platform and games like Left 4 Dead, Portal and Team Fortress, but now it looks like they’re making a return to game development, showcasing the impressive looking VR title, Half-Life: Alyx in a new reveal trailer.
Taking control of the freedom fighter, Alyx Vance on the quest to rescue her father, players will be immersed in a VR world filled with a mixture of enemies from previous titles.
The fact that the new game is a VR release, however, has been a point of contention with fans, with some greeting the release with scepticism, but it’s important to remember the history of the developer as one who has revolutionised the games industry heavily in the past.
Will Half-Life: Alyx be something that changes the way we see VR?
It looks like we’ll have to wait until March 2020 to find out!
