Germany allocates €50 million to game development

It looks like you’re in for some good news if you’re about to start a games development company in Germany, with the government announcing that €50 million will be allocated to assisting the country’s game industry.

In an attempt to equal the financial support made by other countries such as the UK and Canada, with it having been reported here by James Batchelor for GamesIndustry.biz that previously developers would only have seen €4.30 for ever €100 spent on video games.

With Germany now stepping up to support developers and publishers, could we see a rise in titles and new studios over the next few years?

I certainly hope so!
