Brian Kibler takes a stand against Blizzard ruling

With the backlash against Activision Blizzard still growing due to their decision to ban Ng Wai Blitzchung Chung, popular Hearthstone Commentator and professional player Brian Kibler has announced his lack of interest in working with the publisher in the near future.

Ng Wai Chung was banned earlier this week by Activision Blizzard

Speaking out on the decision in an official statement, Kibler said that he considered Chung “very brave” for deciding to speak out despite the potential threat to his own safety due to his actions.

Continuing his statement, Kibler argued that the punishment faced by Chung was far too extreme, suggesting that the disciplinary action was instead an act of appeasement to show support to those “upset by the outburst”.

It also looks like time is not going to heal all wounds for Activision Blizzard, with Reddit and Twitter still alive with angry consumers and negative memes taking centre stage.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/ Activison Blizzard

With the publisher’s new title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare just around the corner, it will be interesting to see how the developer and publisher responds to the growing backlash over the coming weeks.
