The announcement from Sony today sees the new generation console coming to stores for the holiday period in 2020.

Alongside the release announcement on the official PlayStation blog by Jim Ryan, the President of Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe, the plans for two new features that will be included in the next generation of controller were also unveiled.
Speaking on the new adaptations, Jim Ryan spoke about the excitement felt by the company at the prospect of deepening the “feeling of immersion” experienced by players through the new rumble technology and adaptive triggers.
Ryan said that it would enable developers to convey the real feeling of “plodding through mud” or “drawing a bow”.
With the release date now in sight, it will be interesting to see what other new innovations and titles are still to be announced by Sony over the coming months.
