It looks like we’re finally being told why Troy Baker didn’t make a return to Gearbox’s Borderlands series!

Having voiced the character Rhys in Tales From the Borderlands, fans were surprised to see that the iconic voice actor was not going to reprise his role in Borderlands 3, but now it looks like we have our answer
Despite CEO Randy Pitchford having told fans on twitter that Baker had “turned it down”, Troy tells a very different story.
Speaking to VG24/7 Troy instead suggested that the real reason for the decision the studio refused to utilise him was due to his position within a Union, something which Gearbox is apparently against.
It’s a difficult situation to understand without all of the details, but with so much controversy swirling around the Developer recently its not something the Borderlands 3 creators need right now.

Borderlands 3, which released on the 13th of September, has enjoyed a good critical reception for the most part, however due to technical issues and controversies earlier in the year the game has received a mixed review from gamers.
With a lawsuit already announced recently against Gearbox and Pitchford due to issues with music created by composer Bobby Prince for Duke Nukem, the revelation by Troy Baker seems like the last thing the studio needs right now.
