Gears of War 5‘s in-game transactions just got a little bit pricier!
First reported in an article by Eurogamer’s Wesley Yin-Poole, it looks like the purchasable currency, iron, has just gotten a bit more expensive.

Addressing the issue OctusTC, the Community Manager on the Gears of War subreddit said that the issue was due to a conversion rate problem on Microsoft’s main store. They also went on to confirm that this was totally out of their control and that they would have “communicated on it” at the very least so that players were aware of the increase.
Gears of War 5 has enjoyed praise for it’s open-world-esque design, gameplay and storyline, sitting at a comfortable 85 on Metacritic.
However the game has also been criticised by players who see the gated content as egregious and over the top, with the game sitting on a mixed review on steam due to what one user, Timmy described as just being ” Unreal Engine 4 +Merchandising + Mega-transactions”

With this in mind, consumers are irritated at the hike in price, but will developer The Coalition make this up to players in the near future?
Personally, I hope so.
