KFC dating simulator is a finger lickin’ good freebie

It’s odd to say that I spent the last 45 minutes playing through a dating simulator-style game from the fast food chain, KFC, but I’m left feeling oddly inspired by the short title.

Is this the cooking process? (Psyop/ KFC)

A short experience that pokes fun at visual novel games, I Love You, Colonel Saunders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator is a humorous click-to-advance title that enables players to woo the legendary, white-suited connoisseur of chicken.

Throughout the game you’re also encouraged to stay determined and positive regardless of failure. To push yourself to the next limit and to never give up, just like the Colonel. It’s oddly inspiring and I’m left feeling somewhat motivated?

It’s a strange experience to say the least, but the game does charm with comical references and nods to other franchises and titles. I was left feeling surprised at the number of jokes that did hit home effectively.

Is that a JoJo reference? (Psyop/ KFC)

It’s advertising that encourages you to choose menu items to fix various situations in order to bring you closer to that goatee-sporting hunk we all know and love, but it’s done in such a way that it doesn’t feel aggressive, which leaves you feeling positive rather than targeted.

A short and sweet (unlike the chicken) experience, it’s worth a look if you’ve got a free hour to kill, but don’t expect to be blown away with something new.

With the game finished, I just have one last question to ask…

Did anyone else sympathise with the unnamed and ignored Student?

Maybe this is a bit too close to home… (Psyop/ KFC)

…just me?

Ok.
